yamanba 山姥
1月15日の朝、山姥が谷川に餅を流すと言い伝えられている。山姥の餅を食うと体が丈夫になるという。山姥は14日に餅つきをする。山姥は松の臼と杵で餅を作るので、松の香がするという。

葬式から帰ってきたときには、家の入り口に臼と杵を出しておく。杵で臼の中を二三回搗いてから、家に入るという。

kinugazuka 杵が塚
餅屋の爺さんが手元を誤って、婆さんを臼の中で搗き込んでしまう。爺さんは悲しみ、婆さんと臼と杵を葬った上に桜の木を植えた。餅屋に泊まっていた山伏が、杵で老夫婦を殺して金を盗んでいった。近所の人がかわいそうに思って、２人一緒に桜の木の下に葬った。
